Define Speed , SI and CGS unit of speed.

Definitions

The rate of change of distance of an object in any direction is called Speed.

Speed is measured as the ratio of distance to the time in which the distance was covered. Speed is a scalar quantity as it has only direction and no magnitude.

Speed Formula
The formula of speed is given in the table below:

Speed = Distance / Time

v = s / t

Where,

v = Speed

s = Distance

t = Time

S I is the speed in ms-1 , CGS unit of speed is cms-1
