Draw a diagram of different types of images formed By Concave Mirror when the object is placed (i) At infinity, (ii) Beyond the centre of curvature, (iii) At the centre of curvature, (iv) Between the centre of curvature and the principal focus,(v) The principal focus, (vi) Between the principal focus and pole

Image Formation By Concave Mirror
By changing the position of the object from the concave mirror, different types of images can be formed. Different types of images are formed By Concave Mirrors when the object is placed

(i) At infinity,
(ii) Beyond the centre of curvature,
(iii) At the centre of curvature,
(iv) Between the centre of curvature and the principal focus,
(v) The principal focus,
(vi) Between the principal focus and pole.

(i) At infinity

When an object is placed at infinity. Th image is formed much smaller in size (point size). a real and inverted, point-size image is formed at the focus.

(ii) Beyond the centre of curvature ( In between 2F and Infinity )

When an object is placed behind the centre of curvature,

Position of image – between the centre of curvature and focus.

Nature of image – Real , inverted, diminished ( Smaller than object )

(iii) At the centre of curvature (2F or, C )

When an object is placed at the centre of curvature and focus.

Than,

Position of image – at the centre of curvature.

Nature of image – Real , Inverted, Same size

(iv) Between the centre of curvature(2F) and the principal focus (F)

When an object is placed in between the centre of curvature and focus,

Then,

Position of the image – Between the centre of curvature (2F) and the principal focus (F)

Nature of image – Real , inverted, Magnified (Large size )

(v) The principal focus(F)

When an object is placed at the focus,

Then,

Position of image – Object at focus,

Nature of image – Real , inverted, Magnified (Large size )

(vi) Between the principal focus (F) and pole (P)

When an object is placed in between focus and pole,

Then,

Position of image -an object is placed in between focus and pole,

Nature of image – Virtual, erect , Magnified (Large size )
