The lymphatic system is filled with a colourless fluid called lymph. The lymphatic system’s primary function is to serve as a filter for microorganisms, organic waste, poisons, and other material. It transports lymphocytes, which fight off infections, throughout the body.

The functions of interstitial fluid are as follows:

i) Nutrients are transported to the cells using it.
ii) It makes it possible for cells to communicate with one another.

iii) It expels the cells of metabolic waste.
