Water and minerals transportation in plants:

i) Xylem transports plant water and minerals.
ii) Root hair – the hair present in the roots of plants.
iii) These root hairs absorb water and minerals from the soil because they are in direct contact with the water film between the soil particles.
through the diffusion process, water enters the root hairs.
iv) The xylem is made up of small vessels that connect the roots ,stem and leaves.
v) Xylem transports water, minerals, and nutrients from the soil to all the plant parts.

Transportation is absolutely critical for getting different vital nutrients, water, and other things to different regions of the body in all living things.
When it comes to plants, the process of moving food from the leaves to various areas of the plant is referred to as translocation.

Phloem:

i) Plants’ synthesized food is stored by various storage organs which include – stems, fruits, etc

ii) Phloem, a type of vascular tissue, aids in moving the food that has been created from the leaves to different storage organs.

iii) Phloem is a complex permanent tissue that is present in all vascular plants.

iv) Phloem is made up of a variety of components, including companion cells, sieve tubes, phloem parenchyma, and phloem fibres.

v) Phloem in plants transports food in both upward and downward directions, or a bidirectional manner.

vi) For the process of translocation to take place, ATP is necessary.
