flower is the reproductive structure of angiospermic plants. As popularly used, the term “flower” especially applies when part or all of the reproductive structure , the coloured part of a plant or tree from which seeds or fruit grow

Functions of flower :

Functions of parts of a flower:

The parts present in the flower are the Stalk, Sepals, Petals, Stamen and pistils.

The functions of each part are as follows:
Stalk: It is the base on which the flower grows.
Sepals: They are green leaf-like structures located above the stalk, which protects the flower during its bud stage.
Petals: The brightly coloured flower part is called petals. It attracts insects for pollination.
Stamen is also known as the androecium or the male reproductive part of the flower. It is comprised of an anther and filament. On the another, pollen grains are present in a specialized region called a pollen sac. Pistil: It is known as the Gynoecium or the female reproductive part of the flower and is composed of stigma, style and Ovary. It is the stigma on which the pollen grains get attached, move through the style, and reach the ovary where fertilization occurs.
