What are Cations ?
Those elements that can lose electrons to form ions which are positively charged are called Cations.
Those elements that can lose electrons to form ions which are positively charged are called Cations.
The electrons present in the valence shell are known as Valence electron .
The outermest shell of an atom is called its Valence shell.
Mass number of an element is the total number of protons and neutrons present in the nucleus.
Atomic number is equal to the number of electrons in the neutral atom of an element .
The subatomic particle of an atom with no charge and mass almost equal to the mass of the proton, i.e. hydrogen atom.
The subatomc particle having mass 1 amu, i.e. equal to hydrogen atom and has unit positive charge.
The subatomic particle having a unit negative charge and a mass equal t 1/1837 of hydrogen atom.
There is a positively charged mass at the centre of the atom, known as the nucleus.
An atom is the smallest particle of an element that exhibits all the properties of that element. It may or may not exist independently but takes part in every chemical reaction.
