A rainbow is an arch of colours that may be seen in the sky and is brought about by the sun’s light being refracted and dispersed by rain or other water droplets in the atmosphere. In general, red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, and violet are the colours of the rainbow.
Formation:
A light beam enters a prism, where it is refracted and divided into its seven colours. The different angles of bending for each other produce the splitting of the light rays. Each hue that enters the prism thus experiences a unique angle of bending concerning the incident beam. The colour spectrum is created as a result of this.
