Regeneration is the capacity of an organism to produce a new individual or organism from one of its body components. When a hydra’s body is divided into pieces, each portion of the body can develop into a full hydra; in other words, when a hydra is divided into pieces, the cells of the severed parts divide quickly to form a “ball of cells.”
