Definition :
” The process of asexual reproduction in which many daughter cells are produced from the parent cell is called multiple fission.“
Process of Multiple fission
i) The nucleus is repeatedly divided during this process to produce a large number of nuclei.
ii) Each nucleus takes up a small amount of cytoplasm, and a membrane is subsequently produced around each cell.
iii) All of the generated offspring cells have similar and identical sizes.
Example – It is frequently noticed in species like Plasmodium.
