Solution :
The periods of adolescence are when the body experiences various changes that prepare it for sexual maturity. Starting at about age 10, adolescence lasts until you are 18 or 19 years old. Thirteen, fourteen, and fifteen are considered “teen” years because they fall during the time of adolescence. So, this period is also known as the adolescence stage.
Puberty is the term we use to refer to the changing process that occurs during adolescence. Adolescence begins with the onset of puberty. Reproductive maturity is complete at the end of adolescence or puberty. So, what are the changes that you may notice in your puberty?
Puberty-related changes
Too frequently, you can see quite obvious changes in both your own body and your friends’ bodies. Puberty is to blame for everything.
Increase in Height: The abrupt gain in height during puberty is the most obvious alteration. Long bones develop quickly. As a result, a person’s height grows quickly throughout this time. Girls develop more quickly than males at first, but ultimately, boys are often taller than girls. By the age of 18, a person has reached their maximum height.
Body Shape Change: A boy’s body develops more muscle. His waist narrows while his shoulders enlarge. A girl’s figure develops narrower at the shoulder and wider below the waist.
Voice Change: A boy’s voice changes from infantile to deep, with a hoarse voice initially taking its place. The voice is reported to crack as a result of this. The voice gradually deepens. A boy’s voice box enlarges, which causes a shift in voice. The voice of a girl is often high-pitched.
Increased Activity of Sweat and Sebaceous Glands: During adolescence, the production of sweat and sebum from these glands rises. Some youngsters may experience acne and pimples as a result.
Development of Sexual Organs: In boys, sperm production in the testes starts. Penis and testicles mature fully. Ovaries grow and eggs start to develop in females. A developed egg begins to be released by ovaries.
Reaching Mental, Intellectual and Emotional Maturity: A person’s thinking is significantly impacted by these changes as they progress toward reaching mental, intellectual, and emotional maturity. Teenagers think more now than they did in the past. Therefore, the majority of teenagers may feel uneasy due to the body’s many rapid changes. Teenagers shouldn’t worry, though, as these changes are normal. They will certainly disappear over time.
Adam’s Apple: An obvious protrusion in the neck that indicates an enlarged voice box. It is known as the Adam’s apple.
Secondary Sexual Characters
The presence of secondary sexual characteristics aids in separating men from women. Sexual dimorphism refers to the prominent morphological differences between a species’ male and female members. Typical secondary sexualized characters include:
Secondary Sexual Characters in Boys: Facial hairs, deep voice and hair on chest.
Secondary Sexual Characters in Girls: Enlargement of breasts and high pitched voice.
Some common characters in girls and boys: Hair under armpits, hair in the pubic region.
Hormonal Control
Hormones control these changes in the adolescent period. The endocrine glands secrete these hormones. Hormones play important role in various metabolic activities.
In boys, the testis secretes the hormone testosterone. This hormone is responsible for many changes in boys.
In girls, ovaries secrete the hormone estrogen. This is responsible for the development of breasts.
A hormone that the pituitary gland secretes regulates how these hormones act. A different hormone produced by the pituitary gland promotes egg maturation and sperm production. Because endocrine glands lack ducts, a hormone generated by them travels through the bloodstream to its appropriate place.
